General settings
The General page allows to configure general preferences as well as the applications visual and sound representation.
- Disk Serial Number
- Select default serial number detection method to retrieve the disk serial number by default.
- Computer ID Source
- Select one (or none) method for how the workstation is identified in logs & reports. Select User-Defined to set a custom workstation name.
- Local devices initialization
- Specify which devices to initialize at application start up. Disable unnecessary types to improve performance.
Application log
These settings apply to the log file generated by the application. All significant operations performed during the session will be logged.
- Log file location
- Allows the user to specify where the application log file is saved. By default this is set to a Active@ KillDisk installation directory.
- File name
- This setting configured name for log file. Available save log file with default file name and custom variant of it. Use template for sett custom file name.
- Initialize application log when application starts
- This setting configures whether the application generates a new log file for each session (erasing the log from the previous session) or appends new sessions to a single log file. Additionally, log files can be named using a specified naming pattern.
- Application log detail level
- Manipulate the amount of details included in the logs. Options are: Minimum and Maximum.
