Confirm Critical Actions

As an addition safety measure for critical actions, a key phrase must be entered to proceed in this dialog each time. Three erase confirmation options are available:

  • Use keyphrase to confirm erase;
  • Use randomly generated keyphrases to confirm erase;
  • No keyphrase confirmation.

As a safety precaution to prevent accidental removal of disks' data Active@ KillDisk uses the user-typed keyphrase mechanism just before the erase procedure is initiated (see below). By default, this precaution mechanism is initialized with the key phrase ERASE-ALL-DATA. The key phrase can be modified, configured as a randomly generated set of characters or disabled. The keyphrase must be typed correctly in order to start the erase procedure.

See Disk Erase page or Secure Erase page in application Preferences to configure these options.
